A 25-year-old man was sentenced on Tuesday by the Criminal Court of Melun (Seine-et-Marne).

The defendant had broken into the store with a crowbar in the middle of the night and left with several dresses.

The total damage of the burglary is estimated at 50,000 euros.

An investigation was immediately opened.

18 month suspended sentence

The police quickly identified the suspect, but as he was homeless, they were unable to find him immediately.

He was finally spotted on January 19 in Saint-Fargeau-Thierry (Seine-et-Marne) and immediately taken into custody.

Judged in immediate appearance, the young man was sentenced to 18 months in prison with a probationary sentence of two years.

He will have during this period the obligation to work or to train and will have to carry out 240 hours of work of general interest (TIG).

The dresses have never been found.
