Stalling while driving is never pleasant.

But stalling in the middle of a level crossing… that must be very scary.

And that's exactly what happened to a driver who was driving in the Dordogne on Wednesday.

Around 11 p.m., the woman and her passenger found themselves stranded on a level crossing in Lamonzie Saint-Martin, reports France Bleu Périgord.

Panicked, the motorist failed to restart after stalling.

She couldn't go forward or back.

Problem: a TER restarted at this time.

The station bell rang and the barriers began to descend.

The two passengers barely had time to get out of the vehicle before the train passed.

Fortunately, the TER filled with passengers was not traveling at high speed.

But he still hit the front of the car before stopping 500 meters further.

No injuries were observed.

As a precaution, the SNCF technicians checked the train which was finally able to leave without worry.
