The US authorities warned of a snow storm that will hit the north and west of the United States on Wednesday, and that it will cause hurricanes and severe thunderstorms over parts of the south of the country.

The US National Weather Service said that the storm will be associated with snowfall on the Great Plains throughout Wednesday, reaching a height of 30 centimeters.

She added that snowfall will cover parts of the states of Nebraska and South Dakota, with a strong winter storm moving east towards the states of South Dakota and Minnesota (south of the country).

The same storms caused heavy rains and hurricanes along the central US Gulf Coast, and the National Agency indicated that northern Mississippi was hit by a hurricane on Tuesday, and there is a possibility of snow "the size of peas."

About 70 flights are cancelled

About 70 flights were canceled from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Tuesday morning, and flights are expected to be disrupted during the heaviest snowfall until Thursday afternoon.

Currently in California, it rained heavily over the North Coast over the weekend, and the area will see flooding when another heavy rain storm hits on Wednesday and Thursday.

It is noteworthy that the United States witnessed a snow storm described as historic last month, which killed 63 people, canceled 6,900 flights, cut off electricity to many homes, and disrupted life in many cities, with the temperature reaching 48 degrees below zero in some areas.
