The Ministry of Labor of Russia reminded about the duration of the upcoming New Year holidays.

As stated in the message in the Telegram channel of the department, the Russians will rest from December 31 to January 8.

“Since December 31 is Saturday and also a non-working day, the New Year holidays will increase to nine days,” the press service of the department said.

In addition, the Ministry of Labor reminded that weekends coinciding with non-working holidays are postponed in 2023 from January 1 (Sunday) to February 24 (Friday) and from January 8 (Sunday) to May 8 (Monday).

It should be noted that the decree on the postponement of the weekend was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin on August 30.

The document says that the corresponding decision was made "in order to rationally use the weekends and non-working holidays by employees."

The Ministry of Labor published a weekend calendar for 2023 in June.

According to these materials, the first shortened working week in the coming year awaits Russians in February from the 20th (Monday) to the 22nd (Wednesday).

This is followed by four days of holidays, since February 23 (Thursday) is Defender of the Fatherland Day, and February 24 became non-working due to the postponement of the day off from January 1.

In March, a day off in connection with International Women's Day fell on the middle of the working week - Wednesday.

The bi-annual May holiday will run from April 29 to May 1 (Saturday to Monday) to celebrate Labor Day.

This will be followed by a four-day work week: May 2 (Monday) - May 5 (Friday).

Weekend in honor of Victory Day will be held from May 6 (Saturday) to May 9 (Tuesday).

In addition, the third week of June will be shortened due to the Day of Russia, which is celebrated on June 12 and falls on Monday.

The weekend leading up to this will last three days, from June 10 (Saturday) to June 12 (Monday).

The final block of holidays for 2023 will be in November and will last for three days in connection with National Unity Day: from Saturday, November 4 to Monday, November 6.

The work of the healthcare system on New Year's holidays

The head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, earlier called for strengthening control over medical services during the New Year holidays.

“During the long New Year holidays, the work of the entire healthcare system should be strengthened, and citizens should be able to receive high-quality medical care,” the minister said during a meeting of the Ministry of Health’s operational headquarters, which the press service of the department reported on December 23.

The minister instructed the regions to strengthen control over the work of services involved in the provision of emergency and emergency medical care to the population.

He also stressed that it is necessary to organize the provision and implementation of the required sanitary and epidemiological measures during the movement of organized groups of children participating in festive events.

The minister also instructed to form a work schedule for medical organizations during the New Year holidays in such a way as to provide for the provision of primary specialized medical care and medical examinations, ensuring the operation of pharmacy points, antenatal clinics, as well as prenatal diagnostic rooms, milk distribution points, blood transfusion stations and trauma centers. centers.     

Along with this, the regions were instructed to ensure the availability of emergency and planned medical care in hospitals, paying special attention to the readiness of infectious diseases and toxicology departments and providing for the possibility of deploying additional beds.

Among other things, Murashko ordered to hold awareness-raising events in the media with the involvement of leading experts from the regions.
