A Ukrainian agent who spied on the Black Sea Fleet received 12 years in prison, the Center for Public Relations of the Federal Security Service (FSB) reported.

According to the agency, Russian citizen Yevgeny Petrushin, on the instructions of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, collected and transmitted information about the activities of the Black Sea Fleet in 2020-2021.

“By a court decision, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison in a strict regime correctional colony, a fine of 100 thousand rubles and restriction of freedom for one year,” the secret service said in a press release.

The FSB of the Russian Federation systematically reports cases of detention of persons suspected of treason in favor of Ukraine.

On December 13, the department told about the detention of a resident of Khakassia on suspicion of attempted treason.

According to the FSB, the detainee took the initiative to go over to the side of the enemy and join the Armed Forces of Ukraine to participate in hostilities.

He was detained at the Krasnoyarsk airport while trying to travel to Ukraine through the territory of one of the CIS countries.

Earlier that month, on December 8, the FSB announced the suppression of the activities of two Russian citizens suspected of committing treason in the form of espionage in the interests of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

One of the detainees, a resident of Sevastopol, adhered to Ukrainian nationalist ideology and was recruited by the SBU in 2016.

After the start of a special military operation, he handed over to the Ukrainian side for a fee data on the location of objects of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Along with this, the attacker later involved his acquaintance, another resident of Sevastopol, in similar activities.

He, in turn, collected and transmitted to the Ukrainian special services information about the objects of the Russian FSB.

The FSB announced the arrest of another SBU agent suspected of espionage on October 3.

According to the agency, a 28-year-old resident of Kherson was recruited by the SBU in 2021.

Later, after the start of the SVO, the SBU actively used the agent to collect information about the locations, the number of Russian military units, their routes of movement on the territory of the Kherson region, as well as the types of military equipment and weapons used with reference to geographic coordinates.

Subsequently, the attacker transmitted the information he collected through a mobile messenger.

The data was supposed to be sent to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense for planning the infliction of fire damage on the units of the RF Armed Forces.

In September, the FSB announced the arrest of a Vladivostok resident suspected of spying for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

The department established that the Russian, acting on the instructions of the Ukrainian military intelligence, collected and transmitted to its representatives information about critical and military infrastructure facilities in the Primorsky Territory.

As noted in the FSB, the detainee was aware that the data he sent could play against the security of Russia.

Earlier in the same month, the FSB announced the arrest of another Russian citizen who was transferring information to Ukraine to the detriment of the security of the Russian Federation.

As specified in the department, the detainee held the position of quality director of an aircraft factory and had access to technical documentation marked “top secret”.

Using a mobile phone, he filmed drawings of details of military aviation equipment, after which he transferred these materials to a citizen of Ukraine via electronic communication channels.

In August, the FSB announced the suppression of the activities of a resident of Kursk, who, according to the agency, was involved in the collection and transfer of information about the objects of the Russian Defense Ministry on the instructions of foreign intelligence.

In the process of operational-search activities, they found special equipment on him, transferred to him by Ukrainian intelligence, as well as special literature on sniper training, survival, guerrilla warfare, reconnaissance and sabotage activities and the work of special services.
