“Buy alcoholic products in legal stores - there are no counterfeit, illegal or fake products, since the Unified State Automated Information System for recording the volume of production and turnover of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products (EGAIS) is working, which ensures the quality and safety of products,” explained Vadim Drobiz.

In turn, the chairman of the National Union for the Protection of Consumer Rights, Pavel Shapkin, emphasized in an interview with RT that when buying alcohol via the Internet or in dubious stores, you can run into a life-threatening fake.

“On the Internet, empty bottles are sold in batches, some even in gift boxes, and the price reaches 1,000 rubles.

They are bought by bootleggers for reuse.

This is an original bottle, it has an original label, a release date, a stamp confirming legality is pasted - it’s just a matter of a cap, and this can be done at home, so such things are very dangerous, ”he said.

At the same time, in a licensed store, the cashier must consider a special brand as a scanner, the RT interlocutor recalled.

“After that, punch a bottle at the checkout, and at that moment in the EGAIS system, which takes into account all alcohol on the territory of Russia, it is extinguished, that is, it will not be possible to legally sell it again,” Shapkin explained.
