Xiaojiao is a village located in Liexi Street, Sanyuan District, Sanming City, Fujian Province, only a 15-minute drive from the urban area.

In the village, Jinghu, Metasequoia, Hanxi, and ancient houses complement each other, and the forest coverage rate reaches 86%.

In 2019, Cai Xingjue, who has been engaged in the construction industry in Taiwan for more than 20 years, came to Xiaojiao Village from New Taipei, Taiwan by chance, and joined the upsurge of rural construction and entrepreneurship in mainland China.

At the 11th Common Homeland Forum recently held in Pingtan, Fujian, Cai Xingjue took "Xiaojiao's Life Diary" and shared his story of participating in rural construction and rural creation.

Since 2018, Fujian Province has pioneered the Fujian-Taiwan cooperation model with the theme of rural construction and entrepreneurship in the mainland, the third-party full-course counseling service model, and the cross-strait architect joint village model, exploring a new path for the integration and development of Fujian-Taiwan rural construction and entrepreneurship, and helping Rural revitalization.

Fujian-Taiwan Township has continuously innovated policies and measures for the integration of rural construction and entrepreneurship, expanded cooperation results, strengthened service support, and continuously manifested integration effects, making Taiwanese youths engaged in the construction industry eager to try.

The cross-border self-made team in Sanming City, Fujian Province, with Cai Xingjue as the chief operating officer, is composed of professionals from the field of rural construction on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Xiaojiao Village warmly called, and Cai Xingjue and his team members became "new villagers".

As a thousand-year-old village, Xiaojiao Village has a profound ceramic culture and is surrounded by ancient kiln sites from the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.

This allowed Cai Xingjue to see the possibility of "revitalizing" Xiaojiao Village - to revive the culture of the ancient kiln site and make the development of the village more vital.

"This matter is 'top-level planning + community building'. It takes 3 months to draw a blueprint for Xiaojiao, and then spends 3 years with Xiaojiao to gradually realize the blueprint." In every corner, resource inventory and cultural mining are carried out.

In Cai Xingjue's view, the first thing to do is to seek the cooperation and participation of villagers in the construction of rural areas.

Therefore, gossiping on the side of the road, singing with uncles and aunts in the happiness house, etc., became part of the team's work; through the sharing of small lecture halls, the villagers of Xiaojiao Village began to enthusiastically participate in the public affairs of the village.

After staying in Xiaojiao Village for 3 years, Cai Xingjue and his team members were stationed in the village, from design and supervision to supporting the development of local industries and providing escort services.

"'Revitalization of the countryside' requires capital, knowledge, and creativity. In addition to leveraging policies and attracting investment, we have also introduced many teachers and students from cross-strait universities to work in Xiaojiao through internships, and even stayed to start a business." Cai Xingjue said that the young people accompanied With the villagers transforming the living environment, promoting industrial development, and jointly organizing activities, Xiaojiao Village has attracted more and more tourists, and at the same time, many young people who have gone out to develop have returned to their hometowns.

Today's Xiaojiao Village is built on the basis of the thousand-year-old kiln history to create a cultural and creative village with a theme of pottery culture.

At the same time, agricultural and sideline products have been designed and repackaged, handmade (plant dyed cloth, handmade soap, leather goods making, etc.) training courses and various cultural and creative activities have been held successively, making Xiaojiao Village full of new vitality for sustainable development.

As the new year approaches, Cai Xingjue plans to invite Taiwanese youths to come for internships.

"The mainland is promoting rural revitalization in an all-round way. The market demand is very strong, and there are many heart-warming policies that benefit Taiwan and the people. It is the right time for Taiwanese youth to come here to develop." Cai Xingjue said, working together with the local villagers, the vision of rural construction and rural innovation It must be getting better and better.
