• After the discovery of a body, Saturday morning, in the forest of Chatenay (Isère), four people were indicted.

  • The investigation revealed that the victim, already known to the police for domestic violence, had been strangled after an evening punctuated by three violent arguments.

  • His girlfriend and one of his friends then decided to hide his body in the forest.

Four people have been indicted for the murder of a 28-year-old man, concealment of a corpse and not prevention of crime but also violence in meetings, we learned Monday evening from the Grenoble prosecutor's office.

Saturday morning, a body was discovered by hunters on the edge of the road at the height of the Combe Bonnet in the town of Chatenay (Isère).

The investigators quickly ruled out the theories of suicide and natural death since the victim, known to the justice services for domestic violence, showed signs of blows to the face.

Very quickly, the investigations led the gendarmes to place the deceased's girlfriend in custody, as well as one of his 21-year-old friends.

Three violent arguments in the evening

On the night of Friday to Saturday, three people were at the couple's home.

The evening, during which the protagonists consumed alcohol and narcotics, quickly degenerated.

“An argument broke out between the victim and his girlfriend but also between the victim and the two other men present”, indicates Eric Vaillant, the public prosecutor of Grenoble.

Blows are exchanged.

The two guests, aged 31 and 35, eventually left the scene.

But a new argument breaks out between the victim and his partner.

The third man, still present at the home, intervenes to separate the lovers and begins to strangle the victim.

“After finding that he was dead, they decided to get rid of the body in the Chatenay forest, where he was found,” specifies Eric Vaillant.

At the end of his indictment for murder, the 21-year-old young man, suspected of having strangled the victim, was remanded in custody.

The companion, prosecuted for receiving a corpse, and the two other men, who left earlier in the evening, were placed under judicial control.
