The new season, 57 / a, of the Alpine Ski World Cup begins with a cancellation: today's women's giant slalom in Soelden will not be held due to bad weather.

The men's giant slalom is scheduled for tomorrow.

The rain mixed with snow that fell during the night on the race course forced the organizers of the women's giant that opened the women's world cup on Soelden's Rettenbach to cancel the race.

The conditions of the track did not ensure conditions of total safety for all the athletes, which is why the decision was made not to take part in the competition.

Now the track staff will work on the track in view of the men's giant on Sunday 23 October (first run at 10.00, second run at 13.00).

It was since 2006 that the female giant of Solden was not canceled due to weather conditions.
