Zelensky confirms rapid gains in the south and the liberation of dozens of towns

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that his army is making rapid and strong progress in the south, and that it has recaptured dozens of towns this week from the Russians in the south and east.

In his daily speech yesterday evening, Zelensky said that some of the lands that were retaken are in Kherson, Luhansk and Donetsk, where referendums were held last week to join Russia.

Zelensky pointed to eight towns in the southern Kherson region where Russian forces had retreated in the face of a Ukrainian counterattack, according to military maps presented by the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday.

The latest maps revealed by Moscow showed that Russian forces withdrew from several towns in Kherson, including areas along the western bank of the Dnieper River.

In Kharkiv the maps showed that the Russian forces had almost completely abandoned the eastern bank of the Oskil River.
