A teacher at a government school in the city of Khorfakkan in Sharjah, Aisha Al Balushi, said: “I teach students in the foundational stage, and there are usually children who are not committed to wearing the muzzle due to their young age and their inability to sit for long periods while wearing masks, but it is finally with the decision of the National Authority To manage emergencies, crises and disasters by easing the procedures related to Corona and leaving the wearing of the muzzle optional for school students, I noticed a good number of students sticking to wearing masks.

Al-Balushi believes that some of these students who are ashamed have found protective masks a safe haven to hide behind and cover half their face, and she pointed out that the mask gave them more courage than they were before the pandemic, so they became responsive to teachers and their friends, but removing it may need preparation and containment. And her opinion was supported by the English language teacher in a private school in the Emirate of Fujairah, "Caroline," and she said: "Students in the kindergarten, first and second grades, have started their scientific lives during the Corona pandemic, which made them believe that the muzzle is an essential part of the school uniform, which will be difficult for parents. Their affairs are to convince them to remove it, especially shy children, or those who suffer from a defect in their faces, or even students who are in older stages and suffer from a lack of self-confidence.”

And she confirmed that she began to notice, after an optional decision to wear the muzzle for the student and the educational and administrative staff, the presence of a number of students who adhere to the idea of ​​wearing the muzzle for fear of infection with the Corona virus, as wearing the muzzle was associated in their minds with not having any disease.

The Arabic language teacher in a private school in the city of Kalba in Sharjah, Muhammad Abdul Rahman, said that wearing masks had a positive impact on the health of most of those who adhere to Corona’s procedures, but that in some families it reached the stage of obsessiveness and fear of infection, which may make them adhere to the masks, which affected in a way Directly in their children students and restricting them to wear it even at the times when they are allowed to take it off.

He pointed out that what bothers him is the presence of students who eat their meals during the opportunity while wearing masks, which may need a psychologist or educational guide to support these students and strengthen their resolve and confidence in themselves and make them able to face their school community without masks.

In addition, the psychologist, Hassan Issa, confirmed that wearing a muzzle for children was initially difficult for the parents because they did not know how to convince them of the need to wear it to protect from Corona, and when parents got the best ways to convince their children, wearing the muzzle turned from a need for behavior and usually they practiced it for a period Two years in a row, which made the child linked to it, whether with the end of the pandemic that calls for wearing a muzzle or keeping it.

He pointed out that a child or even an adult who suffers from weak self-confidence has the mask reinforced this weakness and made him adhere to it throughout the school day or when he leaves the house, as a number of parents noticed the boldness of their children who suffer from low self-confidence as soon as they wear the muzzle, they express themselves in a way They are better and engage more with their peers compared to their position when the mask is removed.

Issa directed parents to pay attention to this behavior and work to enhance the self-confidence of their children by supporting their positive behavior and developing their abilities to help them build their self-confidence and not involve them directly in the social environment and allow them to take the adventure alone, in order to strengthen their personality, in addition to understanding and encouraging the child’s personality To develop his hobbies and interests, which will attract his classmates to share his hobbies and interests.
