[Global Times Comprehensive Report] The Hong Kong Jumbo Seafood Restaurant, which has been in operation for nearly half a century, set sail in June this year due to poor management. When it sailed to the waters near the Paracel Islands, it capsized due to bad weather.

It is reported that the Hainan Maritime Safety Administration has decided to supervise the tugboat company to carry out salvage and removal work.

According to a report by Hong Kong's "Sing Tao Daily" on the 17th, the Jumbo Seafood Boat was towed from Hong Kong by a tugboat in June and sank due to wind and waves while being transported to Cambodia.

The Marine Department subsequently received a report from the shipowner that the seafood boat and tugboat were still in the waters of the Paracel Islands, and the shipowner would continue to follow up.

At that time, the director of the tugboat company said that 6 of the 8 buoyancy cabins of the seafood boat were still in operation, but the boat had capsized. Due to insurance problems, it was an "impossible task" to salvage the treasures.

The ship's owner and insurance company planned to arrange for divers to destroy other buoyancy tanks and scuttle the seafood boat to sink it to the bottom of the sea.

However, according to the report, the Hainan Maritime Safety Administration, which belongs to the Sansha Maritime Safety Administration, responded to the media earlier, saying that the salvage plan has been finalized and will be salvaged and cleared at the scene soon.

The bureau will supervise and manage the work in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

It is said that the Jumbo Seafood Boat was overturned when it capsized, the bottom of the boat was upside down, the hull was damaged and rested on the seabed reef, and its superstructure had been disintegrated.

However, when the water level is low, part of the bottom of the ship will still emerge from the water, and the Maritime Safety Administration will urge the tugboat company to "fulfill its salvage and removal obligations as soon as possible" according to law.
