China News Service, August 30. According to the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK) report, on the 30th local time, the No. 3 unit of the Mihama Nuclear Power Plant in Mihama-cho, Fukui Prefecture, Japan was restarted.

The unit had previously leaked water containing radioactive material.

According to the report, on August 1, the Mihama Nuclear Power Plant No. 3 unit discovered the leakage of water containing radioactive substances. Kansai Electric Power claimed that it was caused by the loosening of the bolts of the equipment to prevent the leakage of cooling water, and said that it will carry out additional inspections on the basis of Restart the nuclear power plant.

However, on the 21st, the pressure of the cooling water tank used by the unit fell below the specified value again, and the restart work was postponed for this reason.

After the above problems were solved, Kansai Electric Power believed that there was no problem in restarting the nuclear power plant, so after the plan was postponed for 20 days, it restarted the No. 3 unit of the Mihama nuclear power plant on the afternoon of the 30th.

The report pointed out that if the nuclear power plant works smoothly, it will start generating and transmitting electricity on September 1.
