Embassy: US is lying in an attempt to denigrate Russia

The embassy drew attention to new statements by the US administration on the situation with the ZNPP.

“It is obvious that Washington does not disdain outright lies in unrestrained attempts to denigrate our country,” the diplomatic mission said in a Telegram message.

Also, the Russian embassy noted that the suppression of the fact of shelling of the ZNPP by the Armed Forces of Ukraine encourages Kyiv's impunity.

Earlier, Russian Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov called on the Kyiv authorities to stop attacks on nuclear power plants and provide security guarantees to the participants of the IAEA mission for their visit to the facility.

The head of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region, Yevhen Balitsky, declared his readiness to receive and ensure the security of the UN Secretary General António Guterres and the IAEA mission during the inspection of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
