- During the day it will be up to 35 degrees inside the school.

We don't have AC, just regular ventilation.

And it is not enough to keep the school cool, says Gisela Berg Rudolfsson, one of the principals at Söndrum School.

At her school it is grades 6-9 that are sent home and at Furulundsskolan grades 7-9.

The younger ones are allowed to stay because they require more care in teaching.

- It is between one and two lessons that are canceled for those who are allowed to go home.

The students get school assignments that they solve at home, says Gisela Berg Rudolfsson.

She adds that it is not the first summer that they have had to change the teaching at the school.

- We hold discussions every year with the municipality about introducing AC, she says.

Based on the weather forecast, classes will return to normal on Friday.
