Rio de Janeiro continues to add heat records and breaks the barrier of 60 degrees of thermal sensation. "Temperatures will continue to be high this Sunday and Monday," said meteorologist Raquel Franco.
The thermal sensation in Guaratiba, in the western part of the city, reached 60.1 degrees at 10:20 in the morning, the highest recorded since measurements began in 2014. This Friday, Sao Paulo also set its heat record for March. After two tourist seasons in which constant rains were the trend in summer, Rio de Janeiro experienced an extremely hot summer in 2023/2024.
