A 36-year-old man committed suicide on Saturday evening in the disciplinary district at the Nantes remand center, we learned this weekend from the prosecution.
This is the second suicide in less than three days in this remand center which has 958 prisoners (including 788 housed) for 573 places, according to the Interregional Directorate of Penitentiary Services of Brittany, Lower Normandy and Pays-de-la- Loire.
Thursday afternoon, a 35-year-old prisoner had already committed suicide in the penitentiary establishment.
