Mr. Yamada's office revealed that State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kenji Yamada attended a meeting involving related organizations in February 2016 regarding the relationship with the former Unification Church.
In April 2018, an affiliated group of the former Unification Church purchased two party tickets worth a total of 40,000 yen.
In an interview with NHK, Mr. Yamada said, "As a result of the investigation, it is true that there was a relationship, but there are instructions from Prime Minister Kishida, so we will not have a relationship in the future."
