“UN Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Amir Mahmoud Abdullah from Sudan as the UN coordinator for the Black Sea Grain Initiative,” the world organization said in a statement.

It is noted that Abdullah has rich experience in the World Food Program.

Earlier, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, said that two more dry cargo ships with corn and flour left Ukrainian Chernomorsk for Liberia and Turkey as part of a food deal.

Frederick Jay Kenny, UN Resident Representative at the Joint Coordinating Center in Istanbul, spoke about the great interest of ship owners in participating in grain exports from Ukraine.
