  • This Thursday, she explains that you shouldn't picnic too early when you go hiking, because it's the promise of this moment that gives courage to move forward.

EDIT: We invite you to read our summer series on the art and how to have a good picnic.

These four articles were published in July and August 2020. Bon appétit.

This summer, more than any other, picnics are in vogue.

And if you feel like going to breathe it in front of the most beautiful landscapes, you will also have the pleasure of enjoying a good meal thanks to the wise advice of Raphaële Marchal, culinary journalist and author of the book

Passions Pique-Niques

published in June at Michel Lafon.

For Raphaële Marchal, “the real picnic is this one”.

The one we savor when hiking, because it comes in comfort after the effort.

The culinary journalist prepares it the night before, with eggs, fruit, cheese and a nice sausage that she leaves in their packaging (Raphaële prefers to peel everything once there, as she explains in our video) or in bowls right in her backpack (with a nice salad, roasted cauliflower, anchoïade or hummus), which she completes on the way with good gourds and fresh bread bought that morning.

Don't stop too early for a picnic

“And we leave, on foot, by bike, on skis, on hikes, without knowing exactly in which direction, or for how long, but with one certainty: at some point, we are going to enjoy ourselves.

»

The ideal, for Raphaële Marchal, is to stop "in a magnificent place", of course, but on condition of having arrived "at two-thirds, even three-quarters of the walk", so that 'after hunger, the end of the hike is no more than a digestive walk.
