Malaga, July 27.- It's 15 minutes past seven and

Eva Longoria

, who is preparing to attend the

Global Gift

gala dinner in

Marbella

, attends LOC with British punctuality.

She is a small and pretty woman, with a cheerful demeanor and a sparkling smile, who laughs constantly and with whom it is very easy to talk.

She loves ham -you could eat 100 dishes, she comments between laughs- and confesses that she is in love with Marbella, a city where she arrived at the hands of her friend -and her son's godmother-

María Bravo

and in which, she assures , thinks about staying to live every time he visits her.

On this occasion she has been accompanied by her husband, the Mexican businessman

José Antonio Bastón

, and her four-year-old son, Santi, from whom she has not been separated for a minute and together with whom she has enjoyed bathing on the beach, of walks through the alleys of the center and glamorous meals in the most exquisite restaurants.

But Eva Longoria is much more than a pretty face and the loose-tongued character of

Gabrielle Solis

that she brought to life in

Desperate Housewives

.

She is a committed person, concerned about the rights of what many have considered for years to be the weaker sex - but who is not so - and willing to help those who are less fortunate than her, especially women and men, from her privileged position. latin girls.

Hearing her talk about it, there is no doubt about it.

Actress, producer, director or philanthropist?

If I have to choose between any of these facets, I will, without a doubt, choose philanthropy.

It is the goal of my life and I think it is what defines me the most.

I grew up with these values, I learned them at home, from my mother, my father and my sisters.

Today they are in my DNA and in my heart.

What are you working on?

In my philanthropic role through Global Gift we have projects around the world adapted to the different needs in each country and with my foundation in the United States we are focused on Latin women and girls.

We have specific training and business programs focused on their education and training so that they can access the labor market and have an opportunity.

What are the challenges that women face in these times?

The main problem that women face today comes from the curtailment of rights that we are suffering and that takes us back to another era.

You only have to look at what is happening in the United States and if this is what is happening in a country like this, where there is freedom and we have a voice, imagine what it will be like in other places.

As a woman and as a mother, this turning back scares me.

Cinema and television, how can they contribute to improving the situation of women?

In this industry we have a lot of responsibility in this regard, especially in regard to the image of women.

As producers and directors we must present a stronger, smarter and more intelligent woman than what is normally seen in movies and series.

We need more stories about women, written, produced and told by women, where our point of view is reflected.

Is it difficult to combine work and motherhood?

My son has always been with me, since he was in my belly, and he accompanies me on every set I'm working on, whether directing or acting.

Fortunately, I also have the support of an incredible family, wonderful friends and a wonderful husband, who support me in all my projects.

Do you plan to increase the family?

Nope!

Not now.

I am happy like this.

Also, I asked Santi if he wanted a little brother or a little sister and he said no.

He is of Spanish descent and visits the country frequently. What is his favorite food?

The ham, of course.

I order ham from the moment I get off the plane until I leave.

I love him and I could eat 100 plates, no problem.

So, ham, ham, ham.

Will we see her again in Spain soon or will we have to wait until next summer?

I am going to stay in Spain for five months eating my ham because I am going to record a series in Girona with Apple TV and Bambú Producciones.

I am very excited about this new project in which I am going to be in front of the camera.

What are your next professional projects?

I just finished my first film as a director, Flamin' Hot, about the Flamin'Hot Cheetos, which will come out next year in Spain.

It is an amazing story with a spicy touch and very inspiring.

I think the public will like it a lot.

What role would you like to play or what movie would you like to do?

There are many stories that I would like to do, but there is one that I particularly like.

It is about the life of Rita Hayworth, who was actually called Margarita Cansino.

She was Latina, her father was from Seville, but when she came to Hollywood she changed her name and today everyone thinks she was a gringa (American).

You are a model of beauty, what is your secret?

I have many secrets that are not secrets.

I sleep well, eat healthy and exercise daily, but perhaps sleeping is the best anti-aging recipe.

Everyone is looking for a magic cream or serum, but the truth is that if you sleep well, your body will respond much better to exercise, diet and creams.
