The price cap applies from Tuesday, July 12, along with several other changes to the climate bonus rules.

The bonus amounts for plug-in hybrids are also reduced, and the limit value for when a car receives a bonus is reduced from 60 grams / km to 50 grams / km.

The limit on how large a bonus a company can receive, the so-called 35% rule, is also removed.

The bonus is thus calculated in the same way for individuals and companies.

Climate bonus means that those who buy a new electric car have the right to apply for compensation from the Swedish Transport Agency.

The aim is to get more people to invest in climate-smart vehicles.

To date, more than SEK 10 billion has been paid out in climate bonuses to more than 270,000 new car buyers since the carrot was introduced on 1 July 2018, according to the Swedish Transport Agency.

“Just like before, you have the opportunity to go to our website and calculate your preliminary climate bonus.

Our websites are updated with the new conditions ", says Tomas Melin, unit manager at the Swedish Transport Agency in a press release.

From the turn of the year, further changes will be introduced, including a reduction in the bonus for both electric cars and plug-in hybrids.
