Household consumption of goods fell again in January in France, falling by 0.3%. The cause in particular is a sharp decline in purchases of durable goods such as cars.

As for purchases of food products, they increased slightly in January. Excluding manufactured goods, INSEE reports a one-month increase of 1.3% in energy expenditure, already up 1.5% in December. The slight tremor in food consumption is due to an upsurge in Purchases of "meat, canned fish, drinks, as well as pasta and products from the bakery"
