The number of victims of the Dolomites glacier collapse in Italy rises to 10.

According to local media such as ANSA, rescue authorities recovered the body of the tenth dead from the accident site on the 7th (local time).

The number of deaths was announced as six people right after the accident on the 3rd, but it continued to increase as more bodies were found afterwards.

On the other hand, the number of missing persons, which was once known to be close to 20, has been tentatively counted to one so far.

It is known that there were some errors in the counting process, such as classifying the deceased as missing in the process of counting the victims after the accident.

Accordingly, the number of casualties in this disaster is estimated to be 11 dead or missing and 8 injured.

"The number of victims of this tragedy is almost certain," Veneto governor Luca Chaya, who oversees the accident, told reporters on the same day.

Earlier, on the 3rd, a mass of glacier and a boulder fell at once from the summit of Marmolada (3,343m above sea level), the highest peak of the Dolomites Mountains in northern Italy, attacking many climbers.

Local analysts analyze that climate change that has warmed the earth has caused these disasters.
