At the beginning of June, the last days of negotiations took place in Boden, where the Land and Environment Court inspected the planned steel plant area.

The area is about 500 hectares and in order to be able to build the steelworks, the company wants to lead Lillbäcken, among other things.

They will also undertake to move, for example, amphibians and laparoscopy in order to avoid impact.

The company may begin its construction

And today came the verdict which means that H2 Green Steel has been granted the right to begin non-building permit and preparatory ground and construction work such as excavation and movement of soil masses.

According to a press release from the municipality of Boden, the work will begin in August.

- 1 July 2022 is from today a historic date for Boden and an important date in Swedish industrial history, says Boden's municipal councilor Claes Nordmark (S) in a press release.

"The pressure will increase significantly"

At the same time, a number of processes are underway where the land agreement between the municipality of Boden and the company concerning the designated land area is central to both parties.

The municipality's detailed plans will also be submitted for review.

- Now the pressure will increase significantly and we look forward to an exciting autumn, says Mats Berg, municipal manager and business manager in Boden.
