War in Ukraine: Severodonetsk bends, a long process of joining the EU… The conflict in four infographics

8:42 am: The martyrdom of Ukrainian cattle

On a farm in northern Ukraine, a fearful heifer has limped since a shrapnel broke her hind leg, her martyrdom reminding us of the heavy toll animals pay in war.

Aged four months, she survived bombings that almost completely destroyed a farm in the village of Mala Rogan, 25 km south-east of Kharkiv, killing a third of the animals.

A “nightmare night” for Lioubov Zlobina, the 62-year-old owner, who says she has been “haunted since by the cries of the cows burned alive” in the shed on March 26, while the Russians were trying to conquer the agglomeration.

According to the Ukrainian government, 15% of cattle have already been lost.

For its part, the association of milk producers estimates that the number of cattle in the country will have decreased by 8 to 10% by the end of the year.

“In 2021, Ukraine had 3.11 million head and a loss of 300,000 animals is expected,” according to the NGO Open Cages Ukraine, which issued a first report on June 9, after contacting 290 farms.

8:34 a.m .: Ukraine demands “fire parity” with the Russians after the withdrawal from Severodonetsk

Ukraine is urging its allies to finally give it “parity of fire” with Russian forces to “stabilize” the situation in the Donbass after the withdrawal of its troops from Severodonetsk, a strategic lock in this region, pounded for weeks by the Russian artillery.

In other words, kyiv wants to be delivered enough heavy weapons to match Moscow in terms of the arsenal deployed in the war.

"I stressed the need to achieve fire parity with the enemy, which will allow us to stabilize the situation in the most threatened region of Lugansk," said Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi , reporting on his Facebook page on a telephone conversation with his American counterpart, General Mark Milley.

8:21 am: No matches in Transnistria

Until further notice, there will be no more matches counting for European football competitions played in the separatist region of Transnistria, UEFA announced on Friday.

In fact, this decision only concerns Sheriff Tiraspol, who played in the Champions League last season and will have to find a fallback stadium.

Bordering Ukraine and pro-Russian, the region has experienced several explosions since the start of the war.

War in Ukraine: The Ukrainian army withdraws from Severodonestk, Poland helped to welcome refugees

Hello everyone !

See you for a new live dedicated to the war in Ukraine.

The country is now officially a candidate for the EU, which did not fail to make Moscow react, between disdain ("an internal European affair") and anger (Sergueï Lavrov cheerfully referring to Europe under the cut of Adolf Hitler).

Militarily, kyiv ordered the soldiers still in place in Severodonetsk to withdraw, after weeks of resistance.
