The interest in participating in this year's competitions has been great, according to competition leader Göran Mattsson.
During the pandemic, the races have been provisionally arranged at arenas and airfields.
- It was as you understand quite flat.
People are tagged on getting out on the usual roads again, he says.
The competitions take place in Björklinge, at Polacksbacken, in Ulleråer and in Ultuna.
During the week, cyclists aged 10-75 years swished across Uppsala's roads.
On Thursday, the elite will drive in Björklinge, before the competitions move back to Ultuna on Saturday and Sunday, when the women's and men's groups will cover 190 km.
Ulleråkersvägen closed
Residents in Ultuna are recommended to take Emmy Rappes väg as Ulleråkersvägen may be closed.
- We have permission to let the traffic go with the cyclists, not against, that is when accidents can occur, says Göran Mattsson.
Later this summer, more cycling will be expected.
At the beginning of August, international competitions with start and finish at Uppsala Castle will take place.
