Over the past 12 years, Iran has lost a number of senior scientists, military and politicians in assassinations, and Iran accuses Israel of being behind them.

1- Masoud Ali Mohammadi

On January 12, 2010, Massoud Ali Mohammadi, a professor of particle physics at the University of Tehran, was killed in a motorcycle bomb explosion as he was leaving his home in Tehran.

Many officials and official media in Iran were quick to blame the Israeli and American intelligence services for the assassination.

2- Majid Shahryari

On November 29, the founder of the Iranian Nuclear Society, Majid Shahriari, who was tasked with one of the largest projects in the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, was killed in Tehran by a bomb attached to his car.

On the same day, another nuclear scientist, Fereydoun Abbasi, was wounded in an attack using the same method.

Iran accused US and Israeli intelligence of being behind these two operations.

3- Dariush Rezaei Nejad

On July 23, 2011, scientist Dariush Rezaei Nejad was shot dead by two unknown men on a motorcycle in Tehran.

Iran accused the United States and Israel of being behind the assassination.

Iranian media initially presented Rezaei Nejad as a specialist in nuclear physics and working for the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization and the Ministry of Defense, only to return after that to say that he was preparing a master's degree in electricity.

4- Hassan Moghaddam

On November 12, 2011, an explosion at a Revolutionary Guards ammunition depot in a suburb of Tehran killed at least 36 people, including Revolutionary Guards Gen. Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam.

The Los Angeles Times reported that former US intelligence agents said that the explosion was caused by an operation carried out by the United States and Israel.

5 Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan

On January 11, 2012, scientist Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan working at the Natanz nuclear site was killed in the explosion of a magnetic bomb placed on his car near Allameh Tabatabai University (east of Tehran).

Iran again pointed the finger at the United States and Israel.


6- Qassem Soleimani

On January 3, 2020, the commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guards, General Qassem Soleimani, was killed in a US drone strike in Baghdad.

7- Mohsen Fakhrizadeh

On November 27, 2020, nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was killed near Tehran.

After his murder, Fakhrizadeh was presented as Deputy Defense Minister and head of the Ministry's Research and Innovation Organization Department, and participated in the country's "atomic defense".

8- Khuday hunter

On May 22, 2022, Colonel of the Revolutionary Guards killed Sayyad Khodaei with bullets fired by two people on a motorcycle in Tehran while returning to his home, according to state media.

The commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Major General Hossein Salami, said that Sayyad Khodaei was killed "by the most wretched of the wretched, that is, the Zionists, and God willing, we will avenge the martyr's blood."

The New York Times reported a few days ago that Israel had informed the United States that it was responsible for the assassination of Sayyad Khudaei.
