The agency notes that Yumashev is also a board member of the Yeltsin Center.
“Yumashev has not been an adviser to the president since April ... He served as an adviser to the president on a voluntary basis,” Telen said.
According to the deputy director, Yumashev decided to step down of his own accord.
Valentin Yumashev led the presidential administration in 1997-1998.
On June 22, 2018, he was appointed as a pro bono presidential adviser.
