The public prosecutor's office in Frankfurt has filed charges against a Bundeswehr soldier who is said to have hoarded weapons and tried to send weapon parts to the USA via the mail center at the airport without permission.

According to a spokeswoman, the thirty-three-year-old from Aldenhoven in the Düren district gave up the program in June 2021.

It was addressed to an antiques dealer.

It contained a muzzle flash suppressor for a machine gun and weapon parts.

Guns, mines, ammunition, projectiles and explosive chemicals were found during a search of the apartment.

Some things had to be blown up in a controlled manner.
