“In connection with the expiration of the term of office of the head of the Republic of Mari El, I turned to the President of Russia with a request to accept my resignation,” Evstifeev said.

Earlier, the governor of the Saratov region, Valery Radaev, decided to resign early after ten years of work as head of the region.

Also, the governor of the Kirov region Igor Vasiliev, the head of the Ryazan region Nikolai Lyubimov and the governor of the Tomsk region Sergei Zhvachkin announced their plans to leave their posts.
