The area is beautifully situated by the mountain Dundret with downhill skiing, Hellner Stadium with world-class cross-country skiing and proximity to outdoor life but also proximity to Gällivare center - and that is the reason why many want to live on Repisvaara.

Lacks community service

But the medal also has a downside because so far housing has been a priority, according to Gällivare municipality, and at the expense of community service.

And the lack of community service such as a grocery store and school is great among many repisvara residents.

- If you want it to be an attractive place to live, the community service must be here, it should be built at the same time as you build housing, says Joakim Johansson.

- Grocery store would have been important because it was in Malmberget and people have moved from here to here, I think it is a service that is important, that you should not be car dependent to buy food.

Then there are many older people who live here and then you also have to think about their service needs, says Ebba Ringqvist.

"I was in a hurry to move people"

Daniel Oldhammer, who has moved up from Dalarna, believes that the social transformation from Malmberget has gone a little too fast.

- Probably they have been in a hurry to move all the people and build new ones, he says.
