A 52-year-old motorist died on national road 19, towards Lyoffans, in Haute-Saône.
The tragedy took place on Friday afternoon, after his vehicle was hit by another driving in the wrong direction, according to France Bleu Besançon.
Why did a car arrive on the wrong lane?
Originally, its driver would have taken fright without reason at the sight of the gendarmes.
He would have fled, pursued by the soldiers before suddenly turning around on the famous RN19.
A few seconds before going up the lane in the opposite direction and causing a fatal shock to the victim.
The fugitive was slightly injured, taken to hospital and then taken into custody.
According to the local antenna, he was alcoholic at the time of the facts.
