It was during Friday that a person heard a cry for help at Långgruvan in the forest north of Norberg.

It turned out that a woman had fallen into a mining hole, and the circumstances surrounding the fall are still unclear.

The rescue service was able to establish on the spot that they could not get the woman out of the hole in a safe way, which according to the Swedish Maritime Administration is 5-10 meters in diameter and 25 meters deep, and then asked for help from the Sea and Air Rescue.

- They were already in the air in Stockholm so they could get to the place quite quickly.

It was lucky that the hole was so straight otherwise it would not have been possible to winch up the injured woman, says Maria Boman.

Is this the first time you're helping to pick someone up from a mine?

- I think so.

I have worked here for a long time and have not experienced anything like this before.
