The Bayonne public prosecutor's office on Thursday dismissed the investigation for "manslaughter" after the death of three Algerians caught by a TER in Ciboure (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) in October 2021. That evening, the four victims had managed to cross the Franco-Spanish border with their smuggler along the railway line.

To rest, they lay down on the rails, recalls

Accusations of voluntary intoxication

The collision with the TER could not be avoided.

Only one of them survived, injured.

The survivor, the relatives of the victims and three national associations for the aid of exiles had filed a complaint against X last December.

They accused another individual of having mixed the drinks with harmful substances.

The toxicological analyzes performed on the bodies, however, did not reveal any poisoning.

"No element of the criminal investigation points in the direction of poisoning on the evening of the facts", thus indicated Jérôme Bourrier, prosecutor of Bayonne.
