- It would have been good to have finished with an architect already now, says Lars Bovin who is the construction project manager at the technical office.
It is not clear when the process of supremacy is complete.
There were three architectural firms that submitted tenders, but after the municipality chose one of the companies, the decision was appealed by one of the competitors.
The case is now being tried in the administrative court.
- I do not know when the process is complete, says Lars Bovin.
Construction is now expected to start and the inauguration of the new bathhouse will be delayed by around six months.
- We will probably start land production in the spring of 2023 and construction production after the summer of 2023. If the plan holds all the way, we will be able to start using our new bathhouse in the summer of 2026.
Many protested against the new construction

In the autumn, the decision to build a new bathhouse in Jönköping municipality was hammered out after a long debate in the council.
But the new facility has been criticized and a protest list with over 3,000 signatures was submitted to the municipal management before the decision.
The criticism has mainly been about the absence of adventure baths and relaxation.
Delays can mean increased cost
Even though Lars Bovin currently expects to be able to keep the budget at SEK 884 million, delaying the construction may mean increased costs.
- It is difficult to say how the pandemic and the war in Ukraine can affect, but it can be stated that the small margin shrinks in the event of a delay.
According to figures from Statistics Sweden, some building materials have increased sharply in the past year.
Wood raw materials increased by 61.4 percent and reinforcing steel increased by 49.2 percent.
Add to that increased fuel prices and high electricity prices.
Demolition of the existing bathhouse is expected to take place in the autumn of 2026. The old bathhouse will remain and be in use until the new Rosenlundbadet can be inaugurated.
