The stag has become the attraction of the village
Many people take pictures of themselves alongside the animal, which has become a real attraction.
However, one of the inhabitants of the town denounced, to the mayor, the deer which would have damaged a garden and would have an aggressive behavior.
Faced with this problem, the local authorities want to either move the deer or kill it.
To save "Monsieur le cerf", an association for the defense of animals organized a demonstration this weekend in the village.
It is up to the French Office for Biodiversity and the prefecture of Pyrénées-Orientales to deal with the file, but on Monday, no decision has yet been made.
For his part, the mayor advises residents not to feed the animal because it could have dangerous reactions.
