Finally on a par with Berlin – when it comes to food, Frankfurt is on a par with the capital, if not vastly superior.

Just like on the Spree, every tenth restaurant on the Main can be assigned to the fast food category.

Whereby the offer for the quick meal is not determined by international chains, but by smaller chain stores or individually run restaurants.

The market leaders, above all McDonald's and Burger King, together own 2.8 percent of all restaurants in Frankfurt and Berlin.

The food supplier Hello Fresh calculated these figures in February using data from the Internet portals Tripadvisor, Yelp and Openstreetmaps.

With the evaluation, the company wanted to choose Germany's fast food stronghold - and found it in Münster, where every fifth restaurant has fast food such as kebab,

Something else emerges from the figures: In no other major German city is the density of restaurants higher than in Frankfurt.

According to the portals, the city with 749,000 inhabitants has a total of 2,404 restaurants, which results in a rate of one restaurant for every 312 inhabitants.

In Berlin, the city with the most restaurants (6579), 571 of the 3.76 million capital city dwellers have to share a restaurant, in Hamburg (3415 restaurants) there are 542 people per gastro address, in Munich (3306 restaurants) at least 450 Only in somewhat smaller cities such as Stuttgart and Düsseldorf are guests served at least as well as in Frankfurt.

Wiesbaden is the second Hessian city mentioned in the study. In the state capital, the calculated crowds in the restaurants are higher: 469 residents have to share a restaurant.

Incidentally, almost every tenth of them is a fast food store.
