Three men appeared before the Assize Court of Dijon (Côte-d'Or) in a murder case that occurred in Chenôve (Côte-d'Or) on December 13, 2018. The victim, a 30-year-old father, had was shot after an altercation with the main defendant, who was then under 20 years old.
That day, the two men were in their respective vehicles, at a red light, reports Le Bien Public.
A previous dispute
The 30-something had gone out and smashed the car window with a baseball bat.
In response, the young man fired.
The accused would have scrambled several times with the victim's little brother, a possible explanation for this altercation.
He said he was moving around armed, feeling "threatened by enemies".
The main defendant was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
A second man, accused of having helped him, was sentenced to three years in prison, one of which was suspended, without a warrant.
The third man, also accused of complicity, was released.
