The Assize Court of Vaucluse judges until Thursday a case whose facts date back more than 40 years.

In December 2002, a woman had indeed claimed to the gendarmerie that she had been raped by her father from her 3 to her 15 years, that is between 1980 and 1992, reports

Le Dauphiné Libéré

.

The investigation then lasted nearly 20 years, the father not responding to the summonses and the daughter chaining stays in a psychiatric hospital.

The trial, initially scheduled for October 2018, had also been postponed due to the absence of many experts.

The defendant denies the facts

The alleged victim, currently hospitalized, will not be heard until Wednesday.

The 73-year-old father, described as authoritarian, continues to deny the facts.

His lawyer defends the thesis of memories induced by therapists.

He relies for this on the testimony of the mother, who indicated that their daughter "used to confabulate".

The two sisters of the alleged victim are also to be questioned.
