It is last year's dry grass that is burning off, says Jörgen Björk, emergency officer at the Rescue Service South who is responsible for 21 of Skåne's municipalities.
He says that the grass fire season started in earnest last week.
The nice weather with sun and wind has increased the risk.

How do you not start a fire?
- The best tip is not to start a fire outdoors when it is so dry, says Jörgen Björk.
Anyone who still wants to start a fire is recommended to do so in places intended for firing and to bring water and fire extinguishers.
