A series of large-scale wildfires in the U.S. state of Texas burn an area the same as Tokyo.
Texas Governor Abbott issued a disaster declaration for 60 counties in response to the fires. It is estimated that more than 2,000 square kilometers, the area of Tokyo, has been destroyed by fire, including the White House. An 83-year-old woman died in the fire, and authorities are working to extinguish the fire but the wildfire is spreading further.
