With mild temperatures at midday, spring can already be clearly felt - and this year it will be very colourful.

At least if you look at the range of women's boutique Hahn on the edge of Kronberg's old town.

The shop windows show fireworks in orange, pink and neon yellow, toned down by bright white and light beige.

Inside the store things are just as colorful.

The tones are wildly combined and mixed in patterns.

Customers must now definitely have the courage to use colour.

Despite Corona and the war in Ukraine, fashion is still being bought.

Owner Gunther Hahn is optimistic.

More than 45 years ago he started a leather goods business in Kronberg, initially successfully selling shoes and accessories, then men's fashion and shoes, also for women.

After a major renovation of the business premises on Hainstrasse seven years ago, the now 75-year-old businessman switched entirely to women's fashion, complemented by matching shoes and a few leather handbags that match the style of the sporty-elegant garments, all spread over 140 square meters two levels.

Airy hanging dresses with sneakers

The basement of the boutique is dominated by a wall with extraordinarily beautiful clothes that you won't find anywhere else.

All the clothes are sorted by color like a rainbow, so that you can find the right blouse for your new jacket and jeans.

Or a jacket that matches the hanging dress.

White and colorful sneakers, which have long been allowed with dresses, come from Paul Green, Voile Blanche or Cycleur de Luxe (120 to 250 euros).

Or you can take suede sabots that are open at the back and have a gold college clasp.

The airy hanging dresses have prints of seafood, palm trees, leaves or abstract patterns.

Most of them are colorful, a subtle black-beige or a summery, plain-colored jeans fabric are the exception.

The fashion at Hahn comes mainly from German manufacturers, even if brand names such as 0039 Italy or Tonno & Panna indicate an Italian origin.

The Danish brand Mos Mosh also shapes the style of the store.

Friendly service instead of online shop

Buyer Ulrike Kaiping has a feel for what her regular customers like to wear.

These are women between the ages of 35 and retirement age.

"Anyone who likes fashion at a young age will not stop doing so when they get old," says Hahn, who himself always goes for an elegant appearance.

Most customers come from the surrounding area, but Corona has also aroused the interest of many walkers who live further away and stroll past the shop windows at the weekend.

The prices are medium to high.

Dresses, for example, cost between 140 and 280 euros, most over 200 euros.

All items of clothing are available in sizes 36 to 44. What is not there can be reordered.

The service is friendly.

Of the traditional Kronberg boutiques, the Hahn'sche Boutique is one of the last in place after several other business people retired years ago for reasons of age.

Hahn has not and does not have a website with online sales.

"Either one or the other," says the owner.

He still works every day in the shop's office, but he has now left sales to his four employees.
