The
National Police
have arrested a
74-year
-old man in
Valencia
for allegedly trying
to hang his wife
with the ropes of a clothesline and then lock her on the balcony until she was released by the agents.
The attack occurred around half past three on Sunday afternoon at a home in the Exposition district.
The 091 received notice that a man in a very aggressive state would have locked his wife in the house, reports Headquarters.
Upon arrival, the suspect told the police officers that he
had locked his wife on the balcony
after an argument.
The dispute would have started because the man wanted the car keys and the victim, with whom he has lived for 50 years, refused to give them to him.
The 73-year-old woman was located on the balcony by the agents, after being locked up while placing the clothesline ropes.
The man took them, tried to drown her and presumably also throw her into the void.
Next, the victim would have taken
a gardening pitchfork to defend herself
and, at that moment, her husband would have gone inside the house, closing the gallery door.
After the investigations, the aggressor was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a
crime of abuse
in the family and went to court.
