On the morning of March 3, Taiwan experienced a widespread power outage without warning.

It was confirmed that the accident was caused by equipment failure of Taiwan Xingda Power Plant.

  The accident affected 5.49 million residents in several counties and cities including Taipei and Kaohsiung.

There are more than 2,000 related disaster information cases in Taiwan, including 166 elevator trapped accidents.

The power outage also caused water outages in Kaohsiung City, affected network connections in many places, and made many bank ATM machines unable to serve.
