Just before Christmas, the Swedish Work Environment Authority made an inspection of the emergency department, after the Healthcare Association, the Municipal and Stockholm Medical Association together made a report to the authority about the pressured situation.

The Swedish Work Environment Authority has now decided to impose a fine of SEK 350,000 on the emergency department due to the strained situation for the staff.

In the decision, the authority writes: "You now need to take measures to deal with the unhealthy workload, which has been going on for a long time."

The fine was expected

"We regret, however, that we have not been given more time to implement the proposed measures, which have been delayed due to high congestion due to the covid pandemic."

By 15 June, the hospital must have implemented the Swedish Work Environment Authority's requirements.
