According to satellite images taken in recent days, the Russian military convoy approaching Kyiv is 64 kilometers long - and it is not just the Ukrainian military that is preparing.
- We are with one of the largest construction companies in the city, which due to the war has changed and started building "hedgehogs", says Dmytro Bilotserkovets, who is a member of the Kiev State Council and adviser to the mayor.
By hedgehogs is meant large steel beams that are welded together and placed on the roads to stop tanks.
At the same time, anti-aircraft guns are dug and minor roadblocks are placed to stop cars.
According to Reuters, similar activity is taking place among civilians around Ukraine - something that President Zelensky also noted in his speech to the European Parliament earlier this week.
And construction workers in Kyiv say they will not shut down production even if they run out of metal.
