The city of Bouguenais has owned a sailboat since 2006.
This sailboat is used by the association Bouguenais Contre-courants and requires repairs following various damages.
But the new municipality no longer wishes to own it.

Bordered by the Loire, the municipality has nevertheless owned a sailboat since 2006. A boat that it makes available to the Bouguenais Contre-Courants association, which uses it for nautical activities, and makes trips in more or less distant destinations.
The latest: the Azores.
But the new municipality (DVD) and its mayor Sandra Impériale, elected during the Municipal elections of 2020, have decided not to spend any more money on this sailboat.
Having inherited the boat, she chose to "refocus her action", as indicated through a press release.
Indeed, the sailboat in question is currently at the quay, in La Rochelle, following various damages.
The city of Bouguenais estimates that the necessary repairs would be around €11,000.
A sum that the municipality does not wish to spend, for a boat "used by a very small number" of its inhabitants and whose use "is deployed very far from Bouguenais".
New course at the town hall
The city adds that the aid allocated to the association represents a "total amount of €63,000" and that this sailboat is used by "a few members of the association", for which it does not wish to spend a penny more.
The municipality of Bouguenais intends instead to focus its expenditure on “essential but dilapidated” equipment, such as sports gymnasiums or schools.
“A refocusing of public spending on these priority infrastructures is more necessary than ever”, she indicates, thus leaving it to the Bouguenais Contre-Courants association to find funds for the purchase and maintenance of this sailboat, which the city no longer wishes to own.
Contacted on this subject, the association did not wish to communicate, pending an interview with the mayor.
