In Halland, it is currently at the top.
Compared with other municipalities of the same size, it grew fastest in the country in 2021, followed by Norrtälje and Kalmar.
- The increase is a combination of the birth of new children and the fact that people have moved here from other municipalities and other countries, says Ann-Charlotte Stenkil, chair of the municipal board (M).
At the turn of the year between 2021 and 2022, Varberg's population was 66,658, according to Statistics Sweden.
At the same time, Halland had 340,243 inhabitants.
