At least four people are said to have lost their lives when the extremely powerful storm Eunice, which destroyed several cultural-historical monuments and left hundreds of thousands of homes without electricity, swept across Britain.
"Eunice will go down in history because of its strength and influence," said British meteorologist Liz Bentley.
Wind gusts of around 55 meters per second have been reported, which corresponds to about 200 kilometers per hour.
